Dr. Salvador Camacho is a multi-disciplinary professional in public health combining hands-on expertise with sound academic formation. His main topics of interest are the use of insights from behavioral economics to analyze decision-making processes in diseases prevention. With his research in these topics, he obtained a Doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where he also graduated from an Msc in International Health, rounding off his MBA and a bachelor in construction engineering. He has a sound experience leading public health projects and teams in different areas for both private and public sectors. Dr Camacho has participated in projects ranging from COVID-19 programmatic approach evaluations, obesity prevention, and incorporation of operational research, to health systems modelling. He is part of the project “Co-development of an interactive tool (system modelling) for decision making in Mental Health services and suicide prevention planning in Bogota, Colombia”, funded by Botnar Foundation, in cooperation with CSART and Universidad Javeriana, and other international partners.
