Project Manager (Health for All project), Director of the HAP Center in Albania, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute

Besim Nuri is a Health Specialist and project manager of Health for All project (HAP) since 2017. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Tirana, Albania (1984) and completed a Master of Science in Public Health at Université de Montréal (1997). Besim Nuri worked as a researcher at Institute of Public Health of Tirana (1987-1992) and as a health expert at the World Bank Office of Tirana (1996-2001). He was the deputy minister of health of Albania from May 1992 to August 1994.

Besim Nuri has operated as a consultant for different organizations and agencies such as WHO, UNFPA, The World Bank, the European Observatory on Health Systems and the Swiss Cooperation. He worked for Unité de Santé Internationale at the School of Public Health, Université de Montréal from May 2001 to June 2017, in charge for coordination of health projects and teaching activities in different countries such as Albania, Kosovo, Haiti, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Kazakhstan, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Democratic Republic, Morocco and Lebanon. Besim Nuri’s main areas of expertise are: health systems and policies, strategic planning, development of training programs, human resources and continuing education in health and project coordination and management.
